We appreciate our partnership with Oregon State University and the Oceanic Observatories Initiative as we hosted the 2024 Foundation for Rural Service Congressional Broadband Tour at Fort Rock Data Center last month. Rural broadband helps connect all of our communities across the State of Oregon and allows for a multitude of opportunities that would otherwise be unattainable. The research work that OSU and OOI are undertaking is not only amazing and interesting, but is helping us better understand biology, agriculture, and our environment. The Foundation for Rural Service coordinated the tour with the Oregon Broadband Association with extremely well planned visits throughout the greater NW, providing congressional and senatorial staffers a hands-on experience to see the benefits of fiber connectivity and the role fiber plays with education and the economy. We enjoyed taking time with the group to discuss Disaster Recovery at Fort Rock Data Center and how fiber optic cables bring all of these organizations together, even lunch afterwards was a blast! Thank you to all that made this possible: #FortRockDataCenter is honored to host and work with #GoBeavs Oregon State University, #OOI, #FRS, #OBA, #LinkOregon & #COIX.
